“Flagstaff“ is straight forward and bone dry in its mix and definitely ready for any dance floor. Monotonously driving forward, the basses are kicking, a dragging swoosh in the sequences and atmospheres which are kept subtle are forming the space without many curlicues of resonance. Subtle changes of the track in the arrangement cater for a pleasant, balanced dramaturgy. The remix of Steinmüller is convincing due to the dynamic alteration of chord and groove frameworks. The beat is sticky whirling around, out of the dark clouds of smoky plumes of resonance, in a light offbeat mood, and with firm riffs it is rolling over the membrane.

His potential as a youngster among the artists of the label is still unchallenged. With a view to the Dischord EP, George produces straightforward and danceable summer tunes. Floor suitability, for George, is one of the highest priorities and this is exactly what one gets to feel the effects of here. Everything seems vivid and yet tidy. For the listener, the story he tells is easy to understand. The main contents, such as the pulsation of a chord, are preserved for a long time and unconsciously even mature afterwards. A solid, danceable grounding makes the breath seesaw jauntily and brims over with technical cleanliness and energy here. “Dischord” rolls perfectly on its bass grounding and scoops itself through dusty synth clouds. “Laura” has a skillfully lasting effect, a funky tune in a skillful Tech House style – a bit more libidinal and also fresher at the same time. Time and time again he sets the focus on the deliberate exposure to dissonant chords. These sounds are also the central force in “Iza”. Sweetly, the track is accompanied by warm sounds, which allows a certain summery atmosphere.

In a perfectly wonderful and funky way and with airy implied breaks, the jazzy beats of “For the Body” start their take-off roll, followed by that softly wobbling Rhodes piano by which everything seems to develop entirely of its own volition. Nvelope really got the hang of boosting the intensity by using small steps and without going right away like a bull in a china shop: with those nimbly tap-dancing grooves, always being on the guard in order to preserve the density in the mix. What is more, for all the friends and admirers of the deeply funky floor sounds, a perfect remix of Steinmüller’s “For the mind” with a touch of dub and soul-like vocal snippets has been added.

The track “Dronenwolf“ slowly advances with its deep chord ambient and gets right to the point by its unobtrusive golden stages and without many unessential resonance curlicues. The industrial/mystical prevailing mood of the track is exactly reflective of the feeling that Takt Tick evoke with their live- and DJ sets and the track’s rough and crispy synthesizer and bass riffs provide for a convenient toughness which lures the wolf out of the drone.

“Machine Head” rolls up to the listener in a quite distinct and smooth way. Small breaks provide for the right boost and for some little explosions. The straightforwardness and profoundness of the track captivates the listener while the bass lines see to a fair pressure on the gastric region just at the right time. In one’s head the ticking starts immediately and polyphonically the machines are pressing the sound up and down through the filter while one cloud of sound is hunting for the next.
